Dr. Lawrence Bourdeau is the head coach of the Competitive Masters Sweep Program at Greater Lawrence Rowing and is also a doctor of physical therapy and athletic trainer. Dr. Bourdeau got his athletic training degree at Northeastern University and while there rowed under Buzz Congram and John Pojednic on the men’s varsity team. Dr. Bourdeau post Northeastern University spent time as an athletic trainer for the New England Patriots and was the assistant men’s crew coach at UMass Amherst under Tony Cronin and Jim Dietz. In 2004 Dr. Bourdeau went to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine to earn his clinical doctorate in physical therapy. While in school at the “U” he coached various levels of both HS boys and girls crew at the Miami Rowing Club with Francisco Viacava as well as numerous private lessons in both sweep and sculling. Dr. Bourdeau is married to the beautiful Dr. Katelyn McMahon who is also a physical therapist specializing in dance and performing arts medicine and when not dancing and rowing they can be found dogsledding with their huskies around town! Dr. Bourdeau is the owner OFF-SEASON Sports & Physical Therapy in North Andover and Watertown, MA and he and his staff have extensive knowledge in treating various sports injuries.
