Registration for all GLR Spring programs will be available on Regatta Central through to the end of March 2024!
GLR Spring Rowing 2024
This program is for students in grades 8-12 who want to train and compete in the exciting sport of rowing.
You will be joining our GLR family and becoming part of a highly successful club team with other students from all around the greater Merrimack Valley area. Our team gets to row out of the Greater Lawrence Community Boathouse and experience being out on the Merrimack River.
Am I Varsity or Novice?
Rowers in their first competitive year of racing are considered ‘Novice’ and will race those who also share their ‘Novice’ status; Athletes with more than one year of experience graduate to Varsity. Practice is 5 days a week with races on weekends, and there is no experience necessary. No matter if you’re really big, really little or anywhere in between – we have the perfect seat for you in one of our boats.
If you would like more information or would just like to come and see what it’s all about, please feel free to contact GLR’s Director of Rowing & Head Coach, Mike Kapp.
For all NEW ATHLETES: To ensure you are on our database for registration information regarding remaining available program places, please contact GLR’s Director of Rowing & Head Coach, Mike Kapp at Mikek@glrowing.org
For all rowing programs a swim test is required for those that don’t already have one on file. The swim test form can be found here. We will be land-based for the first few weeks of training so please don’t stress if you don’t have a swim test immediately. We will help get you sorted before we get out on the river.
